ONC HIT Certification - 2014 Edtion

For EHR developers of commercial products and healthcare providers not able to meet the EHR certification requirement through use of purchased technology:

The ONC HIT Certification Program supporting Meaningful Use measures was developed in response to the requirements of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).  The ONC 2014 Edition program is available now.  This federal certification program is limited to assessing compliance with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) developed criteria and standards, using HHS approved testing procedures and tools. The program certifies complete or modular EHR technologies used in either the "Eligible Provider" or "Hospital" settings. Case Study

"I just wanted to say "thank you" to the CCHIT team for your assistance helping us navigate testing and certification", said Eric Whitley, Manager, Clinical Analytics and Operations, Enterprise Data Warehouse at Northwestern University.  "We sincerely appreciate the hard work you put into making this process approachable and achievable - especially the content and organization of the weekly Webinars and the Forum.

We appreciate everyone's contributions to this process. For our team, Meaningful Use has consistently been about one thing - the patient. Our decision to certify is founded solely in the desire to see our tools improve patient care. We hope you appreciate your role in that.  We certainly do".

Northwestern Meaningful Use Data Warehouse Application for Eligible Providers v.2.0 and Northwestern Meaningful Use Data Warehouse Application for Hospitals v.2.0 are ONC 2014 Edition certified modular EHR technology.
